PIXO VR focuses on creating training and safety applications. These experiences were meant to immerse the user in a specific job role and situation where they would be expected to maintain a safe working environment and react to randomly occurring emergencies and challenges. My role as head of product development predominately focused on designing the game play scenarios and systems, ensuring the training met with the proper terminal learning objectives, and that the system tracked and reported on how the trainee performed and where they could improve.
Using the Unreal Engine and some customized template projects, the team was able to meet aggressive deadlines, produce amazing visual quality, and ultimately deliver a memorable training experience that was valuable to those that took the training.
